THE FIFTEEN (15) YEARS OF EXISTANCE
In existance of fifteen (15)years now, the mission of the Gambia Society is to serve as a central source to the Gambians and all African immigrants living in New York metropolitan area.


Our experiance volunteer staff have deligently worked with individuals and partner Organization in the United States of America and in Africa in HIV/AIDS, STD and TB Prevention awareness campagns over the past four years.

U.S Census: In 2000, We worked hand in hand with the United States Bureau throughout the Census excersise. We mobilized, published notice of, and donate our community center for training and borough meetings which involves members and other Bronx residents.


In colaboration with African service Committee(ASC), our association has trained and cirtify over 200 paticipants in our HIV/AIDS, STDs and TB awareness workshop from 2000-2004.


We have completed the first phase of our center base general health screening and family planning counseling and referrals with Planned Parenthood's mobile unit.


In 2003, through the invita tion of an Assemble member Mr.Micheal Banjamin of the Assembly district 79 of the Bronx,our organisation recieived a historic recognition on the New York state Assembly floor in Albany by speaker Shelton Silver.
